Rob Garcia Illumination

Jamboree hosts the leader of a super band among the best in New York underground jazz, Rob Garcia, an extraordinary drummer from Brooklyn, who has played with musicians as diverse as Joe Lovano, Chris Potter, Wynton Marsalis and even Woody Allen. He fronts a quartet that brings together two saxophonists who best mirror the scene: John O'Gallagher, an improviser who has made a name for himself working with Kenny Wheeler, Billy Hart and Maria Schneider, among others; and Noah Preminger, one of the most relevant tenors of new jazz. The band is completed by bassist Marcos Varela, a disciple of Dave Liebman and collaborator of the Last Poets and Jason Moran, among others.
