Acts that will define music in the next few years is, in the words of the Primavera Club organisers, the raison d'être for a new edition of this festival, which, from October 20 to 22, sets up in different venues around Barcelona for you to discover up-and-comers from around the world. Another pull is that you'll get to see how Apolo's La [2] hall has turned out and improved following remodelling, as that's where you'll find a good handful of the festival's concerts on a few days before the official inauguration. Kicking off the festival this year in La [2] are shows by Madrid power trio FAVX (7.45pm); followed by British supergroup Sex Swing (8.45pm), who mix drone metal, krautrock and psychedelia; bubbly indie rock from Gold Connections (10pm), a project by American artist Will Marsh; pop from a trio of young British women who go by the name of Girl Ray (11.30pm) and who met through their shared love of Pavement, Neutral Milk Hotel and Cate Le Bon; the mix of kraut, pop, and metal from Medalla (12.30am); Los Angeles punk supergroup Flat Worms (2am), with members from Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall and The Babies. The night comes to a close with DJ Coco, and Melbourne producer Mic Newman, who's now a resident of Berlin, where he started using the alias Fantastic Man.
