Pere Ubu

Pere Ubu is one of the best examples of artistic integrity in the history of rock. Formed in 1975, and with the reverential David Thomas as the only constant, the band from Cleveland makes their message clear with the motto on their encyclopaedic website that declares 'Ars Longa, Spectator fugaces' ('Art is forever, the audience comes and goes'). Quite a statement of their long career that also explains that thing they do, which could be summarized as art punk rock or, more fairly, rock á la Pere Ubu. The influential David Thomas and his band, who haven't appeared often on Barcelona's stages, are in town to present 'Carnival of Souls' (2014), their 18th studio album.
