The Seattle band of Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Matt Cameron are at long last back in Barcelona after their last visit, more than a decade ago, in 2006. The classic grunge band, who celebrated 25 years together in 2015 have released 10 albums, selling more than 85 million copies, and have become members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Big stuff ahead of their much-anticipated return, this time in the Palau Sant Jordi.
And expectations are high: first, because over the last decade they have relaunched their career with a trilogy of inspired, energetic and impeccable albums – 'Pearl Jam' (2006) 'Backspacer' (2009) and 'Lightning Bolt' (2013) – casting them as a mature band and dismissing any accusations of a decline or a comeback; second, because at first Barcelona wasn't a stop on this European tour, and the surviving heroes of grunge are one of the most popular bands in the country.
