Músiques Sensibles 2015: Nick Mulvey

Former member of the avant-garde jazz band Portico Quartet, Nick Mulvey is (at last!) in Barcelona for the first time with his fantastic solo debut, 'First Mind' (2014), which will close out the Músiques Sensibles in the Foyer del Liceu. Mulvey, who kicked off his solo career in 2013, trading in his Hang for an acoustic guitar, presents music from this latest album that features echoes of classic folk reminiscent of Nick Drake, with the complexity and richness of musicians such as Steve Reich and Philip Glass. The songs are evocative and hypnotic with fresh sounds and a contagious rhythmic pulse.
