MET OPERA: Madama Butterfly

It's the third consecutive opera by Giacomo Puccini in this season of broadcasts offered periodically from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. This time it's one of the most popular operas, not just in Puccini's oeuvre, but in the entire programme. The Italian composer set this work in the Far East, in the land of the geishas.
