Mercè 2013: Cobla Catalana dels Sons Essencials

Marcel Casellas leads this group that departs from some of the most traditional of Catalan music and takes the stage with all the instruments needed for cobla to mix them up with voice and ethnic percussion. Oral tradition, Mediterranean sound and the resonance of jazz are applied to contrapaso, sardana and jota rhythms, exploring the thousands of possibilities Catalan music has to offer.
