Jazzing 2015: Mayte Alguacil Quintet + Ramon Escalé's Barcelona Gospel Messengers

Time for a free double concert with Mayte Alguacil's quintet (11h), a jazz group started up by five young musicians who met in Barcelona while studying music. The repertoire is based on the American songbook, including works from the USA's most well-known pop culture, with the quintet's own arrangements that define their own particular sound. Afterwards, with their dynamic, joyful and contagious live show, Barcelona Gospel Messengers (12.30pm) bring gospel to Catalonia, offering sketches of the best R&B, funk and pop in recent decades, with high-quality technique and solid harmonies.
