As it does every year at this time, the Jamboree is remembering the musician who started the club and went on to become the country’s most international jazz musician: the great Tete Montoliu. Just has Tete himself used to like to do, it does so by offering a concert for his birthday. Tete was born on 28 March 1933 and, to mark the date, two musicians very close to his legacy – the pianist Ignasi Terraza and the double bass player Horacio Fumero – have established a duo with a repertoire of pieces by Tete himself and some of the other numbers he most liked to play. A contemporary of Tete’s, admired by the pianist, will also be taking part as an exceptional guest for the evening: the Terrassa trumpeter Josep Maria Farràs. A full-scale celebration.
Ignasi Terraza piano, Horacio Fumero double bass, Josep Maria Farràs trumpet.
