If there's one piece that cannot be left off of the programmes of big concert halls, it's Handel's Messiah. This oratorio, undoubtedly the composer's most popular, first premiered in Dublin in 1742. Now it's part of the Palau 100 series in Barcelona's Palau de la Música Catalana. You'll enjoy a version from Les Arts Florissants, a group that plays ancient music, directed by its American founder, William Christie.
