Grec 2019: Karen Souza

The deep, sensual voice of the magnetic Karen Souza has become famous thanks to her jazz adaptions of pop and rock classics, such as 'Creep' by Radiohead, 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode, and 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk. Souza, who got her start in house music rather than jazz, discovered her talent for this genre when she was invited to participate in the first album of the ‘Jazz & 80s’ series. Since then, she has been recording her own compositions and arrangements of jazz standards. You’ll get a taste of her full repertoire over two nights at BARTS.
