In this show three artists debut a small sample of the diversity and versatility of flamenco. The first, Carmen Linares, is a good example of an artist who is just as interested in holding on to the roots of flamenco as she is in exploring the many possibilities of an art that she's known how to combine with chamber music formations as well as symphonic orchestras. Also on the bill is an artist who is especially known on the current flamenco scene, Arcángel, a composer and 'cantaor' who starts from a place of pure tradition to explore new paths; and in addition to paying tribute to gypsy cantaor Manolo Caracol, he's also collaborated with greats of the genre such as dancers Eva Yerbabuena and Israel Galván as well as exceptional guitarists like Vicente Amigo. Rounding out the programme is Marina Heredia, a cantaora born in the Granada neighbourhood of Albaicín who is all about the classics, but whose unique voice has become one of the icons of the most ultra-modern flamenco as she performs with her personal style tarantos, rumbas, canciones and tangos.
