Time Out says

Tango, jazz, folk and other rhythms form part of the musical melting pot that Escalandrum play. The sextet was started in 1999 by drummer Daniel Pipi Piazzolla. It was just a question of time before the group decided to tackle the repertoire of an Argentinian tango legend, Astor Piazzolla, which finally happened in 2011. They did it by selecting from among his classics, but also other compositions that, despite being lesser known, make beautiful music. The result was an album, 'Piazzolla plays Piazzolla', which was nominated for a Latin Grammy, and which the group will play live tonight with a special attraction: the voice of Buika, a versatile artist with plenty of personality. Escalandrum has become one of the most acclaimed bands of Argentine jazz, mixing their sound with those of urban music and folk roots. And the combination has not only hit it big in Argentina but has been appreciated worldwide.
