Exploding from the world of more or less pure jazz into stardom is a feat very few accomplish. George Benson has done just that, since his beginnings in instrumental jazz as a brilliant guitarist to his current status as a jazz-pop singer. Throughout his 50-year career, the American artist has received 10 Grammy awards, making him the first jazz-soul-pop crossover artist to receive such recognition.
