Once again, the Sedeta gardens are the place to be to hear some of the best local independent music in a lovely outdoor setting for this 14th edition of the Festigàbal, on August 16 and 17 and during the annual Festa Major de Gràcia neighbourhood festival.
On Friday the 16th, check out tunes from Arrels De Gràcia, considered one of the best examples of Catalan rumba around; the simple, lovely, dreamlike and metaphysical songs from the young quartet Marialluïsa; the indie-pop trio Rombo, presenting their second album, 'Clara Montse Nùria' (2019), full of shiny songs and beautiful harmonies; and Joan Colomo, who performs music from 'L’oferta i la demanda' (2019), his latest compendium of pop hits that are quite mainstream but peppered with political and social criticism.
On Saturday the 17th you can catch the four-piece band Pamplona Melenas, who move between a reverberated pop sound and garage music to create sweet and energetic melodies; the Power Burkas, who are back this year with 'Mai nego l’oci'; guitars and noise from Mourn, who present their second album, 'Sorpresa familia' (2018), where you'll hear echoes of grunge and indie rock scene that exploded in the first half of the 1990s; and the Barcelona trio Aliment, who bring their intense punk and rock to the stage as they present their latest album, 'Brother' (2018).
