Rumba rhythms fill Plaça del Poble Romaní, the heart of gypsy Gràcia, with the Chipén family, who are synonymous with Catalan rumba. A reformation of this classic rumba group features new and veteran members. In the '80s, Peret Reyes and Johnny Tarradellas broke away from 15 years of 'palmeros' for Peret, the king of rumba, and, in C/Cera in the Raval, started marking time to their own rumbas. Nearly four decades later, the Chipén family name and their songs carry on.
