Welcome to the sixth edition of Brazil Day in Catalonia, a party dedicated to spreading Rio de Janeiro's popular culture with workshops, exhibitions of capoeira and traditional dances, local cuisine and lots of music (starting at 2.40pm). This year highlighted performances are those by Ellen Oléria (7.20pm), a powerful singer who won the Brazilian edition of 'The Voice'; Pie Meurray (5.30pm), a musician and artist with over 20 years in the business who'll be accompanied by the Quero Band; Solo Sagrado (9pm), samba fans who make their home in Barcelona; Xandele (4pm), one of the acts responsible for the revival of samba-rock; and Wagner Pa & Brazuca Matraca (2.40pm), pioneers of the 'mestiza' scene in Spain. Brazilian rhythms throughout the day brought to you courtesy of Brazilian DJ collective Gandaia (3.40pm); teacher and dancer Sarah Pallares (5pm); and the percussion and dance of Ketubara (2pm). Don't miss the activities for the little ones (11am) and capoeira from Cordão de Ouro.
