Curtcircuit 2016: Nakany Kanté + Calima

The West African country of Guinea has given the world great musicians and masters of Mande music such as Sekouba Bambino. Singer-songwriter Nakany Kanté was born into this world, and she has combined the spirit of pop with Mande music, soukous, mbalax and Afro-reggae, integrating all of this within the Catalan scene. The release of her second album, 'Naka', shows her evolution over the past two years, since her first album was out. This more concrete sound has a traditional base, which incorporates Mediterranean sounds thanks to the collaboration with Calima and friends, who she shares the stage with tonight during the Curtcircuit concert series.
