Young British poet and rapper Kate Tempest kicked off her music career when she was just 16 years old performing in an open mic series organised by a record shop. She was part of the hip-hop band Sound of Rum, and it also coincided with the start of her poetry performances. She's opened for post-punk poet John Cooper Clarke and rapper Scroobius Pop. Her band Blance's debut album came out in 2001, and the following year her first book of poems, 'Everything Speaks in Its Own Way', was published. Nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize for her debut solo album, 'Everybody Down' (2014), Tempest is now in Barcelona to present her latest record, 'Let Them Eat Chaos' (2016).
