Time Out says

This concert brings you today's most festive essence of Latin American beats. That's the musical cocktail that Chico Trujillo mixes up. The band got its start in 1999 when the punk and ska band La Floripondio split up. Some of the members founded Chico Trujillo in order to work with rhythms suck as bolero, sounds of traditional Latin American music, and of course, cubmia. They've managed to keep all the elements that made up their past in their current music, especially cumbia from before the days of the Pinochet dictatorship, but there's also a current alternative culture note to their sound as well. The result is a musical repertoire based on the new Chilean cumbia, an exuberant musical fiesta made of danceable beats that translates into big fun and a sound that's heard all around the Americas.
