With his 76th birthday approaching and a 50-year career to date, Charles McPherson is a living jazz legend who keeps producing his musical magic on stages around the world. His life changed when he discovered Charlie Parker and he earned his professional stripes playing with Charles Mingus between 1960 and 1972. Other musicians such as Art Famer, Pepper Adams and Ron Carter have collaborated with him through the years and he's also sought to work with musicians younger than him. On this occasion, he visits Jamboree in the good company of the trio of pianist Bruce Barth, one of the key jazz musicians of the last 20 years.
