Belako + Yellow Big Machine

'Hamen' (2016), which means 'here' in Basque, is the name of the new album from Belako, which is out in January. The album shows that the band want their music to be a smack in the face that shakes up anyone who listens to it, whether the result is favourable or not. They've got energy, a hypnotic air about them, and empathy, and enough intuition to fill out a second album with a dozen songs that are self-sufficient, full and intense, and where noise, post-punk and electronica come together with pop melodies or big rock guitar sounds straight out of Seattle, a punk attitude, decisive baselines, and bass sounds that are low, robust and full of elegance.
