Beethoven & Irons

English actor Jeremy Irons stars in this Beethoven programme. Irons plays the title role of Egmont, narrating the text that screenwriter Christopher Hampton has prepared for the occasion, from Goethe's work, for which Beethoven wrote the incidental music. Rounding out the programme are two other titles from the German composer: 'Ah! Perfido' ('Ah! Deceiver'), Op. 65 as well as the 'Symphony No. 7'. The soloist will be soprano Kerstin Avemo, and musicians, the Wiener Akademie, conducted by Martin Haselböck.
