BAM 2016: Lafawndah + Aquagascallo + Nothing Places

Born in Paris and with Egyptian and Irani roots, Lafawndh (9pm) is currently making music in the USA, between New York and Los Angeles; hers is a ritual club music that's as indebted to dancehall, grime and bass music as it is to traditional singers of the Middle East. next up it's Aquagascallo (10.30pm), three musicians from the French psychedelic underground scene with influences including traditional French pop and krautrock. Rounding out the night are Spanish group Nothing Places (midnight), whose sound is between classic and avant-garde pop, dream pop and experimental rock – atmospheric but never lethargic.
