The first day of the annual BAM (Barcelona Acció Musical) festival during the Mercè festivities features two concerts in the Plaça dels Àngels. Opening the festival is Catalan singer-songwriter Blanes Isaac Ulam (9.15pm) with his intense double album 'Ratpenat' (2016), part rock and part funk. The other star of the night is El Niño de Elche (10.45pm), flamenco 'cantaor' who experiments with the anatomical possibilities of his mouth as an instrument and creates paths not only to other musical styles such as alternative rock, but also to the dramatic arts.
