Ghanaian guitarist Ebo Taylor, icon of African music and the variant of Afro-pop called highlife, is still going after marking 50 years in the music business. His latest album is 'Appia Kwa Bridge' (2012), and he's presenting it on the first day of BAM. He shares the bill with Brushy One String (aka Andrew Chin) (11pm), a name that references the number of chords his guitar has, and he uses the instrument as percussion to accompany his voice that's full of low-fi subtlety whether he's singing blues or rapping or reciting spoken word with STA (also known as Standrius) (9.30pm), a five-member band made up of Argentinian musicians who live between Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, and who re-create onstage their contribution to the spectrum of Jamaican music.
