50th Voll-Damm Festival Internacional de Jazz de Barcelona: Liceu Big Band

Last year it was a journey through the history of big bands. And two years ago, a Caribbean trip based on the repertoire of The Beatles with Cuban musician Iván Melón Lewis on piano and arrangements. If you still haven't checked out a performance by the Liceu Conservatory's young orchestra of students of advanced studies of jazz and modern music, now's your chance, with the big band programme with vocals that its tireless director, Sergi Vergés, has come up with. Enjoy arrangements written by masters of the genre such as Frank Foster, Thad Jones, John Clayton and Jim McNeeely, featuring singers in their last year of studies at the Conservatory.
