Time Out says

Since Chucho Valdés took on the role of godfather of the Barcelona Jazz Festival in 2014, the festival has had the clear aim of taking us on a different adventure every year. This year, which marks 100 years since his father, Bebo, was born, Chucho returns to Barcelona with a remastered version of one of the best projects of his career, the Jazz Batá he recorded back in 1972 with Carlos del Puerto and Óscar Valdés. Chucho performs at the Palau de la Música Catalana as part of a quartet, along with two of the biggest percussionists in the world – Yaroldi Abreu and Abraham Mansfaroll Rodríguez – and double bassist Yelsy Heredia. Chucho says the music you'll hear is almost all new stuff, and that it's wild jazz in the sense that it's way outside the box, and defies labels and the constraints that come along with them.
