He's been among the greatest flamenco guitarists of all time for years now, but far from resting on past glories, Vicente Amigo keeps on keeping on with his career. On his latest album, 'Tierra', his seventh since he started burst onto the scene 26 years ago at the Festival del Cante de las Minas, Amigo puts himself in the hands of Guy Fletcher (you may know him as the keyboardist for Dire Straits) and the Celtic group Capercaillie to demonstrate that his music still works wonderfully well with that of other roots. Having played with, among others, Sting, Milton Nascimento, Al Di Meola and John McLaughlin, Amigo continues to prove right those who have always considered him the number one heir to Paco de Lucia.
