45 Voll-Damm Festival Internacional de Jazz de Barcelona: Wadada Leo Smith's Golden Quartet

Just shy of 72 years old, trumpeter Ishmael Wadada Leo Smith continues pumping life into his spiritual, independent and avant-garde art, embodied in the concept of free improvisation that has created its own following, and in contrasting compositions of therapeutic effects. This marks his debut in Barcelona, where he'll present the ambitious 'Ten Freedom Summers', a monumental four-disc work that is a musical representation of the Civil Rights movement in the United States.
