When Paris was a mecca for American jazz musicians in exile, it was not unusual to see Daniel Humair among them at the historic Club Saint Germain. And for over half a century this Swiss drummer's name has appeared on dozens of albums, with musicians such as Jean-Luc Ponty, Michel Portal, Eric Dolphy and Henri Texier. He is without doubt one of the pillars of modern jazz in Europe, and his latest quartet is faithful to his maxim of finding happiness in playing music.
