Cohen made his debut at the Jazz Festival in 2003 as a member of the Chick Corea Quartet. Since then, his career has focused on his own projects, which mix jazz with Middle Eastern melodies and to which the Israeli double bassist adds his singular lyrical voice with melodies sung in Hebrew. With his With Strings project, Cohen pairs classical chamber music with jazz with a string quartet as the epicenter (but with a subtle difference: two violas instead of two violins, so the result is a shade darker), an oboe and the usual members of his trio (Nita Hershkovits on piano and Amir Breslin on drums).
