Producer of such artists as Solomon Burke, Ani DiFranco, Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint, in his role as singer-songwriter, the works of American singer-songwriter Joe Henry always hit his roots in the deep musical tradition of his country. His pieces are built on distant echoes of New Orleans, classic jazz, American folk and even country, all passed through the sieve of a vast musical knowledge, only comparable to that of other greats like Randy Newman or Tom Waits.
