As if it were Primavera Sound or Sónar, once a year kids get their big music festival in Barcelona too, in the form of this Minimusic Day, a chance for the little ones to enjoy big concerts. Saturday April 21 in Poble Espanyol is where you want to be if you have kids who are itching for their first taste of live music, no matter what genre they favour. They'll get hip hop from Brodas Bros, The Pinker Tones with the fourth edition of their story albums – 'Rolf & Flor' – this time set in the Amazon, and fun with artists adults also love including Joan Colomo, Enric Montefusco, Marion Harper, Anímic, La Iaia, Llibert Fortuny, Bonnie & Clyde DJs, DJ Coco and Siamiss DJs, among others.
And since music isn't only for the ears, kids can get in and get their hands on it with workshops on how to make instruments out of cardboard, stencils of big names in pop and rock – which they can take home with them – and even compose their first song. This year the micro space for kids up to three years old has grown: babies and their families will find a big play area that's also set up for their and your comfort (changing areas, push-chair parking...).
As David Bowie said, 'Let all the children boogie'.
