The Direcció de Creativitat i Innovació de l’Institut de Cultura de Barcelona has organised for the third consecutive year Dau Barcelona, a celebration of creativity in games, with emphasis on innovation and experimentation that the field provides for both game creators and players. Games are mainly an exercise in creation, a space open to experimentation, so the festival focuses on game creators. Dau Barcelona is an open-access festival aimed at families, a showcase and a space for experimenting with the wide range of today's board games, and an area for games clubs, seasoned players and bloggers. The festival will be held in Sant Andreu, in the Fabra i Coats factory building (ground floor), in the Josep Bota space, in the Sant Andreu Casal de Barri, and the large central courtyard enclosure throughout the day, from 10am to 8pm. And on the night of Saturday the 13th, Dau Barcelona will not close its doors. In the Josep Bota space at Fabra i Coats they'll be putting on Off Dau, where you can play games all night.
