Sumptuously designed in a Manhattan style, with leather Chesterfields, cascading lampshades and a gilt-edged fireplace, Big Fish doubles as a Mediterranean fish restaurant and sushi bar. The food is good to excellent and the experience is hard to fault – except, perhaps, for the noise levels. Tables are very close together and the music is jacked up to club volume by about 11pm, at which point the waiting staff give up straining to hear you and bring you what they feel you’d probably like.
