John Ford. USA, 1935. Original version, Spanish subtitles. 91'.
In 1922 Dublin, an ex-member of the IRA informs on a friend to the police to get a reward. Told with an almost imperceptible visual purity, this is the first great work of Ford's career, and the film won Academy Awards for Best Director for Ford, Best Score (Max Steiner), Best Screenplay (Dudley Nichols) and Best Actor (Victor McLaglen).
