With Gene Kelly in the starring role, it was clear that this was to be a musical and colourful version of the novel by Alexandre Dumas. The actor gave life to a D'Artagnan willing to convert sword fights into big dance numbers, giving a truly original aspect to the production. A fun adaptation with no shortage of top villains the likes of Vincent Price and Lana Turner.
