Another noughties remake of a perfectly fine eighties film. In 1980 Alan Parker directed the original, which had a generation trying to hit the notes in the titular song at karaoke night and spun off a TV series as well. Same story this time around: the story of a group of young singers, actors and artists of various disciplines who spend four years studying in the New York Academy of Performing Arts, where they're given a chance to live out their dreams and pursue... Fame!
