Mei is a young Chinese woman who, after a traumatic event, decides to leave her pointless life in a village to go to the big city. After settling in Chongqing, nothing goes as expected. She starts working in a textile factory, but is soon fired and falls for a hired killer whose past soon catches up to him. Without a second thought, she then decides to make the long journey to London, where new and bittersweet adventures await.
