Tim Burton adapts the Sondheim musical composed in 1979, one of the most praised of the genre's history. Set in Victorian England, the film tells a love story of revenge and tragedy starring a barber that a cruel judge separated from his wife and daughter. Burton deftly reduces three hours of original music and emphasises the relationship of the barber with the pastry chef.
