After a shipwreck in the Pacific Ocean, a boy called Pi, who'd been travelling from India to Canada with his family, ends up in a lifeboat with one other survivor, a Bengal tiger. Throughout the film, child and feline come to establish an emotional and unexpected relationship. This film has been awarded with four Oscars, including Best Director; a Golden Globe for Best Cinematography; BAFTA and Critics Choice Awards for best cinematography and visual effects; the Satellite Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and Photography; and has besides been listed among the top ten of the best films by the American Film Institute.
