Following the formula of 'Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona', the New York filmmaker opens the film with a family moving to Paris for professional reasons. The similarities quickly evaporate, however, as the film takes an unexpected comedic turn to reveal a web of wildly charming plot points that bear the director's unmistakable signature.
