Protagonist

'Protagonist' is a parable about bonds, alliances and affection, but also isolation, control and distance. It's a reflection on humanity, a story about how people congregate and how they adopt and accept roles. During the show, instinct, resistance and compulsion become the witnesses of the battle each individual has to fight and of how communities gradually develop. This large-format piece features 14 dancers and the voice of Elias, Sweden’s best new artist in 2015. The works by choreographer and dancer Jefta van Dinther are characterised by their rigorous physicality.
