Grec 2019: Animal de séquia

The choreographer Sol Picó explores Valencian popular culture and brings it into the orbit of contemporary dance. Picó, accompanied by the composer and performer Jesús 'Chapi' Salvador uses contemporary dance to tap into a strand ranging from the most primal and territorial tradition to high sophistication and modernity. Picó offers a re-reading of Valencian popular culture, visiting its roots, the most natural and organic of worlds, and contrasting them with a world of omnipresent technology and constant stimulation. Dance gods move to the sound of traditional music performed by the Banda Chapicó, accompanied by the Barcelona Municipal Band.
