Since 2006 Alain Platel has been investigating what he calls 'bastard dance', that which occurs, he says, when the dancers explore those areas of the mind that are not affected by civilisation. This time he goes about it from two sources of inspiration: one is the 'Tauber Back' project by Polish artist Artur Zmijewski, who asked a group of deaf people to sing Bach as they perceived it; the other is the documentary 'Estamira', by Marcos Prado, which focuses on a schizophrenic woman who survives in a landfill in Río de Janeiro.
