Atávico

'Atávico' explores, via movement, possible landscapes of violence as a force that makes us victims and abusers at the same time, according to its creator, Brazilian choreographer Poliana Lima. Without trying to create a narrative, the piece searches instead for a poetry that can generate a theatrical experience, one that's connected to the feelings of violence and its repercussions on the body. The project is committed to 'everyday' bodies that don't conform to the standard, and has a goal of sharing the beauty of movement and gesture that go beyond the stereotypical, just as dance goes beyond virtuosity.
