This premium cocktail bar gets its name not from Beyoncé's sister but from one of James Bond's coolest ladies, from 'Casino Royale'. And it's not a gratuitous concession to the king of the cocktail, because when you enter the premises you'll feel like you're stepping into one of the sumptuous and elegant bars where Bond himself might order a martini before seducing a dozen girls and killing a dozen terrorists.
Solange is run by the Pernías, a family of mixologists who are already well-known for their Tandem Cocktail Bar. Their newer venture is a a delightful golden space where you wouldn't find it strange to see Scaramanga drinking an Old Fashioned or Vesper Lynd winking at the bartender, after strangling a spy in the toilet.
Vintage sofas, a stately wooden bar, liquid gold and exquisite decorating taste are the ingredients that go into making this such a superb cocktail bar. The Pernías have stuck with the classics when it comes to their concoctions: no modern ornaments, no exotic flowers sticking out of your glass to poke your eye out. After all, why change a back-to-the-basics approach that has kept Bond types coming to their establishments for years.
