Hidden Café Barcelona is a a micro roaster of specialty coffees, and they travel to the origins of the coffees to select the best ones and to work side by side with small producers to make the most of each bean. They have a passion for what they do, and they're out to spread coffee culture, so a visit to the café can also be a learning experience.
In fact, they serve your coffee on a wooden tray along with water and a card that explains who made what you ordered and how. Says the café's Carlos Moral, 'We've been a coffee family since 1979, and not only do we want to spread the culture of coffee but we also want to attach a name to each of the coffees to make the public aware of the great work behind each cup. Knowing that coffee is a seasonal fruit, we rotate depending on the season of the year to ensure maximum freshness.'
Though the café and shop specialise in roasted and specialty coffee, they also love tea. And bicycles. You might not get that connection at first, but if you look around a bit little and you stop in more than once, you'll find that Hidden Café Barcelona is also a place of pilgrimage for lovers of bikes as well as of caffeinated beverages. With wooden tables, illustrations on the walls and colourful mosaic covering part of the floor, this space in the Les Corts neighbourhood is one of the most welcoming in Barcelona.
