The historic building of the University of Barcelona boasts some lovely gardens inside its Neo-medievalist–style cloister and the entire back area that date to the year 1871. Here you'll find an oasis in the middle of the city where university students take daily breaks, and anyone out for a wander can stop in and do the same. Though it's not that big, it still features 80 species of plants, some of which came from Barcelona's old botanic gardens, and two ponds with fish and frogs.
